i was raised on classic rock radio, so i've heard all those songs like a million times.

but for me, the ones who passed the test, were the ones whose deep cuts, i.e. the songs not played on the radio, were also awesome.

i can listen to a Stones album cover-to-cover.

tell me another Deep Purple song that's good, aside from Smoke and Highway Star, so I can listen to it, and gain a new appreciation for the band.

I agree with ALL your musical tastes....as far as Deep Purple, first look at the list of members that have come out of that group: Ian Paice, Steve Morse, Don Airey, Ritchie Blackmore, Jon Lord, Ian Gillan, Glenn Hughes, David Coverdale, Roger Glover, Joe Satriani, Joe Lynn Turner, Tommy Bolin, Rod Evans, Nick Simper. Pretty Impressive in my opinion. 

Then check out: Hush, Woman from Tokyo, Burn, Child in Time, Fireball, or Speed King.
